The Rams Baseball team opened district 3 play with a decisive 8-3 win over fourteen seeded Garden Spot on Monday afternoon. Aaron Gress went the distance on the mound striking out 9 and scattering 7 hits. Jake Artz's double and JT Fredericks triple got the rams going in the bottom of the fifth after an hour rain delay as they erupted for 6 runs. Catch the rams back in action on Thursday night at Wenger field in Fredericksburg at 6:30pm as they take on Lancaster Lebanon foe Warwick in the district 3 quarterfinals.

The Rams Baseball Team had several members named to the Mid Penn Commonwealth Division All Star Team over the weekend. Third baseman Riley McLaughlin, right fielder Jake Artz, and pitcher Aaron Gress were named to the first team while first baseman Gary Smith and pitcher and catcher Tony Zimmerman were selected to the second team. A huge congratulations goes out to Centerfielder Colby Schearer for being named commonwealth MVP! It is the first time in school history a rams baseball player has been named MVP of the league. The rams are back in action today in the opening round of the district three tournament as they take on garden spot at 4:30 pm right here at CD.

Congratulations to the Rams Baseball Team for winning the Mid Penn Commonwealth division championship last night with a 10 to 6, 10 inning win at Cedar Cliff. Aaron Gress and Tony Zimmerman pitched the rams to victory while the Rams bats stayed hot pounding out 13 hits. Colby Schearer, Aaron Gress, JT Frederick’s, and Jake Artz led the way going 2 FOR 5 each while aggressive base running by Baily Herrold, Riley McLaughlin, Tito Figueroa, and Schearer kept the pressure on the Colts all game. The rams battled through adversity during the game but refused to give in and ultimately did what they needed to do to win. It was a great team victory that now has the Rams win streak at 10 games and an overall record of 15 and 5. The rams will next face off against Mechanicsburg on Monday at 4 pm in the Mid Penn Tournament of Division Champions.

The Rams Baseball Team pulled off the school’s first ever outright Mid Penn Commonwealth Championship yesterday defeating Cedar Cliff 10-6 in 10 innings. If you missed the game, the group of kids battled through ups and downs the entire game, played as a team, pulled for each other, and got the job done. It was truly a testament to their desire to never give up and these boys are a group to be proud of.

The Rams Baseball Team pushed it's win streak to 9 games on Tuesday with a win over Red Land 6 to 2 here at CD for senior day. Mike Chaudhry threw 5 strong innings on the mound giving up only 2 runs to earn the victory, the rams exploded for 6 runs in the fourth and the rally was capped off by the highlight of the game when Colby Schearer stole home before the pitch even got to the plate! The rams are now 14 and 5 and will play Cedar Cliff on Thursday at 4:15. That game will decide the Mid Penn Commonwealth Championship which no Central Dauphin Baseball Team has ever won. Come and support the boy on Thursday at Cedar Cliff High school at 4:15 as they try to make history!

The 13-5 Rams baseball team is pleased to announce that the first pitch before today’s game vs Red Land at 415 will be thrown out by Mr. Steve Tecau. Mr. Tecau was chosen by senior outfielder Andy Snyder and senior pitcher Aaron Gress as their most influential teacher here at Central Dauphin. The Rams players and coaches say THANK YOU to Mr. Tecau for being a positive influence on his students.

Today is our 11 seniors last regular season home game here at CD. If you see them, wish them luck in the future and in playoffs. These 11 young men have represented themselves, their families, and Central Dauphin in the most positive way, with only a few bumps along the way. They are genuinely good kids who have decent morals and they have truly adopted a team approach to this season and they have worked extremely hard to get to the point they are now. These qualities are going to carry them very far in life even long after their baseball careers are over.

This just in! The Rams baseball squad has extended it's winning streak to 8 games after a pair of victories on Saturday. In game 1 the rams defeated the Hazelton Cougars, a district 2 powerhouse, 15 to 6 behind solid pitching performances from AJ Millar and Mike Chaudhry. The Rams pounded out 15 hits with Gary Smith and Millar leading the way going 3 for 5 each. In game 2 at City Island the Rams defeated a very solid CD East team by a score of 4 to 1. Tony Zimmerman shut down the Panthers offense scattering 5 hits and striking out 7. With solid defense behind him he was able to retire the final 12 batters of the game. Offensively for the rams Jake Artz, Baily Herrold, Riley McLaughlin, and Braydon Parr all had 2 hits a piece while Colton Currey's hustle scored a key run for the Rams in the first to take a 2-0 lead which they would hold on to for the rest of the game. The Rams are now 13 and 5 overall and are sitting in first place in the mid penn commonwealth with 2 final games remaining with Red Land on Tuesday at home for Senior Day, and Cedar Cliff on Thursday, away.

Yesterday the Rams continued their win streak with a 7-0 victory at Cumberland valley. Aaron Gress threw all 5 innings striking out 10 and allowing only 3 hits. He also slammed 2 triples and had 3 R B I's. Gary smith, Braydon Parr, and AJ Millar collected an RBI each as well, while Jake Artz added 2 hits. The Rams are now 11-5 after winning 6 straight. Don't forget Saturday night they will be in action against east high at 7 pm at metro bank park. If you purchased an orange band you can use that to get in to the stadium for free. Proceeds go to Orange for Owen.

The Rams baseball team won its 5th straight game yesterday with a huge 10 nothing win over league foe Mifflin County as starting Pitcher mike Chaudhry threw his first career no hitter. Chaudhry got more than enough help from the Rams hitters as the team pounded the huskies pitchers for 16 hits. Jake Artz and Colby Schearer had 6 of those hits and out of the 16 hits 7 were for extra bases. Aaron Gress Tony Zimmerman, and Gary smith each had triples. The rams are now 10-5 and share first place in the Mid Penn commonwealth with cedar cliff. You can catch the boys back in action today at Cumberland valley at 415.

Attention baseball fans, the Rams will be playing the East High Panthers this Saturday at 7pm under the lights at Metro Bank Park on City Island, home of the Harrisburg Senators. This year's game will once again be in support of Owens Foundation and will help to raise awareness for the dangers of distracted driving. Beginning on Thursday at your lunches. you my purchase an orange bracelet for $2 and sign a pledge that you will avoid driving while distracted. Your orange bracelet will also be your admission ticket to the game on Saturday and you should plan on wearing orange to the ballpark on Saturday to show your support. All proceeds will be donated to Owens Foundation.

The rams baseball team won their 4th straight game yesterday with a 9-1 decisive win over State College. Tony Zimmerman went the distance on the mound striking out 6 and letting up only 1 run. As a team the rams banged out a season high 13 hits, stole another 5 bases, and Jake Mellott and Mike Chaudhry had the dugout making noise the entire game. It was a great team win all around. The rams are now 9-5 and are off until next week,when they take on Mifflin county at home.

Baseball fans- The first pitch before today’s game against State College will be thrown out by Linglestown Elementary 1st grader Zach Hershey for our Diabetes Awareness Day. We will also be honoring Mr. Chris Yocum for being senior outfielder Jake Artz’s most influential teacher here at CD. This is Mr. Yocum’s second time being selected as a senior’s most influential teacher. The Rams baseball team would like to say THANK YOU to Mr. Yocum for being a positive influence on his students. Attention students. Today is Diabetes awareness day at the Rams baseball game versus state college. We are helping to raise money for a local family to buy a diabetic alert service dog for a 1st grader at Linglestown Elementary. To show your support, simply make a donation of any amount at the blue baseball table during your lunch and receive your diabetes awareness necklace/headband.

The rams baseball team ran their record to 8 and 5 on Tuesday with a solid 4 to 1 win at Carlisle. Aaron Gress pitched his way to the win while AJ Millar threw the final inning for the save. Tony Zimmerman led the way at the plate with 2 big doubles while Riley McLaughlin added two hits and Colby Schearer slammed his third triple of the year. Jake Artz and Gary smith helped the cause with an RBI each. Gress was helped on the mound by great defense from the no fly zone, aka the outfield, where several fly balls and line drives went to die. The rams are back in action on Thursday at home against state college. That game will be a day for diabetes awareness so come on out and support the boys in green.

The Rams baseball team won their third game in the last 4 with an exciting 9 inning win over Wilson, 3-2 on Saturday. Jake Artz's 2 out infield single scored Braydon Parr who had doubled, with the go ahead run. Sophomore AJ Millar worked the final 2 and a third innings to pick up the win on the mound and great defensive plays by Colby Schearer, baily herrold, and Tito Figueroa helped the cause. The rams are now 7-5 and are back in action tomorrow at Carlisle.

The Rams baseball team beat Chambersburg yesterday by a 3-1 score. Senior Aaron Gress needed only 76 pitches to shut down the Trojans while Baily Herrold, Colby Schearer, and Gress each had a RBI for the rams, who also stole 5 bases on the day. Riley McLaughlin stole 2 himself. The rams are now 6-5 and travel to Wilson on Saturday for their next game at 11 am.

The Rams baseball team got back to its winning ways on Friday with a 3-0 win over undefeated Lower Dauphin. Tony Zimmerman was lights out on the mound striking out 11 and only giving up 3 hits. Colby Schearer, Riley McLaughlin, and Zimmeman each had an RBI for the Rams who are now 5-4. Our next game is tomorrow at 415 right here at CD against Cedar Cliff.

The Rams Baseball Team stayed hot yesterday winning 3-1 in 8 innings against state college. Aaron Gress turned in a dominant complete game on the mound while Riley McLaughlin and JT Fredricks led the Rams with 2 hits a piece. McLaughlins 2 out single in the 8th scored Fredericks with the go ahead run and Malik Frye followed with a double to score McLaughlin with some insurance. The Rams are now undefeated at 4-0 and travel back up to Mifflin County today to face the Huskies at 415.

The CD Rams baseball team won their 3rd game in a row on Friday night 5-2 over E-town behind the strong pitching of Tony Zimmerman and AJ Millar and some big ram hits. Colby Schearer set the tone by crushing the very first pitch of the game for a towering solo home run and later Aaron Gress and Millar added RBI's of their own in the win. The Rams are now 3-0 and their next game is tomorrow at state college.

The Rams Baseball Team won their second game in a row this time over Carlisle 7-1. Pitcher Baily Herrold dominated the herd by throwing a 6 inning complete game 1 hitter and the Rams hitters banged out 11 hits. Catcher Tony Zimmerman led the way going 2-2 while Aaron Gress crushed a pinch hit triple followed by a Jake Mellott pinch hit double. Sophomore Third Baseman Braydon Parr flashed some serious leather making several difficult plays look easy. The rams are back in action today at Elizabethtown at 415 pm.

The CD Rams Baseball team is excited to announce that today’s ceremonial first pitch will be thrown out by Mr. Craig Douty, who was chosen by senior second baseman, Colton Currey, and senior catcher/pitcher, Tony Zimmerman, as their most influential teacher. This is Mr. Douty’s second time throwing out the first pitch so we can just let that speak for itself. Thanks Craig for being such a great influence on your students.
