They were also known for their great individual talent at many positions, including Big 33 selections Brent Wise and Ardon Bransford. 1999 CD Football Season

The 1999 Rams, under Head Coach George Chaump, were one of the smallest Central Dauphin teams in several decades, fielding a roster of under 40 players. Though often outnumbered and outmatched, great coaching from a stellar staff paired with heart and toughness helped guide the rams to a 9-1 regular season record and a Mid Penn Commonwealth Championship. The Green and White outscored their opposition by an average score of 40-14 including a 78-7 win over rival CD East and an epic 34-27 upset of Cumberland Valley at Chapman field. The ‘99 season marked the Rams 4th consecutive District III playoff berth and served as a key building block in the winning tradition that Central Dauphin continues today.

1955 CD Football Season

The 1955 team was made up of players from Swatara High and Lower Paxton High, the two rival schools that merged to form Central Dauphin. This made the task of establishing chemistry and teamwork very challenging. But first-year head coach, Joe Yukica, and his staff and players did a beautiful job of overcoming many such obstacles to achieve the school’s first winning season. The first Rams edition to hit the gridiron set the tone and established the building blocks for what would become a premier program in the state of Pennsylvania in the late 1950’s and early 1960’s.
