CD Girls Golf News

The Lady Rams Golf Team finished up their season yesterday with a 3rd place finish in the PIAA State Finals. Leading the way for the Rams was Allison Cooper who shot a tournament low 75 and Nora Mater and Alexis Hartwick who shot an 84 and 88 respectively. In addition, sophomore Allison Cooper competed in PIAA state individual tournament on Monday and Tuesday where she finished 6th overall.

Yesterday, Allison Cooper finished in the top 12 players of the PIAA Eastern Regional Girls Golf tournament to qualify her for the State Championship next week in York. She is 1 of only 18 girls from across the state to compete for the state championship and the only girl from the Mid-Penn conference. This will be Alli's second time in two years to qualify for the state tournament and she looks to improve over last year's finish.

Congratulations to Mike Gress for finishing 21 st in the District 3 AAA golf tournament at Briarwood Golf Club in York. With the course yardage at 6900 yards,Mike shot an opening round 75, tied for 10th place after the first day. Mike only blemish the first day was a triple bogey on the par 3 12th hole. On the second day Mike ground out a 9 over par round for a 2 day total of 12 over par. Mike missed the cut by 3 strokes. Good job Mike Gress.

The CD Girls Golf Team won their 3rd straight District 3 Team Title on Friday defeating Conrad Weisser by 32 shots. Leading the way for the Rams were Allison Cooper who shot a 76 and Nora Mater who shot an 82. Also contributing for the Rams were Victoria Robinson and Alexis Hartwick who both shot a 91. With this win the Rams qualify for the state tournament in two weeks in York. As individuals, both Allison Cooper and Nora Mater qualified for the Regional tournament next week in Reading.

The CD Girls Golf team traveled to King of Prussia this weekend to compete in the First Annual Spring-Ford Girls Invitational. Alli Cooper won the tournament shooting a career low 69 while teammate Nora Mater finished 2nd overall shooting her personal best score of 73. Victoria Robinson rounded out the Rams line-up finishing 9th overall by shooting an 86. The girls will be back in action tomorrow as they seek to come away with their 3rd consecutive District 3 team championship.

Congratulations to the girls golf team for Mid-Penn Champions for the third consecutive year. Hannah Donnelly made par on her final hole to secure victory for the Rams. Allison Cooper defended her Mid-Penn individual title by shooting 73.

Congratulations to Mike Gress for making to the district 3 Golf Tournament with his round of 80. Austin Mertz and David Sinisi missed the cut by one stroke and Aaron Gress missed the cut by two strokes.

The CD girls golf team finished 5th overall out of 16 teams in their Girls Golf Classic this past Saturday. Alli Cooper finished 3rd out of 100 girls with a score of 78.

The girls golf team finished their last regular season match yesterday against Hershey with a 1 shot win at Felicita. Leading the way for the Rams was Victoria Robinson with a match low score of 83. Helping aid the win was Alexis Hartwick who shot a 92 and Hannah Donnelly who shot a career best 95.

The CD golf team took 3rd place at Colonial in a Keystone Division Tournament. Leading the way was Aaron Gress with a 3 over par 75 tied for 3rd in the 49 man field. Colin Roscella fired a 77 and Chuck Johnston had an 84.

The girls golf team beat State College by 10 shots yesterday. They finish the regular season 6 and 0. Allie Cooper shot the low round of the day, winning by 12 shots with a 77.

Yesterday, the team finished 3rd in the Hershey Match (tournament) Austin Mertz and Mike Gress each shot 78 , David Sinisi and Chuck Johnston shot 81's and Colin Zwally and Aaron Gress each shot 88. Next match September 10th.
