Apollo Awards

A huge congratulations goes out to the entire cast and crew of The Laramie Project who won the Hershey Theater Apollo Award for Outstanding Play last night for the second year in a row! Additional congrats should go to Sophomore Elizabeth Tesler, Junior Melissa Kline, and Senior James Griffith who also won their individual categories. If you know anyone who was in the Fall Play, be sure to congratulate them!

Apollo Award Nominations

Congratulations to the cast and crew of the spring musical, Legally Blonde, for their wonderful showing with Apollo Award Nominations. Nominations include Senior Emma Hillman for outstanding featured performer, Junior Kyle Jacobs for outstanding supporting actor, Junior Melissa Kline for outstanding lead actress, and Junior Kat Bleiweiss with an Honorable Mention for Supporting Actress. The cast was also nominated for Outstanding dance number, and outstanding musical. All play and musical nominees will learn their fates Sunday, May 22 at the Apollo Awards. Wish them all luck at the show!

An update from Dayton- our CD Indoor Drumline advanced all the way to finals and placed 14th at World Championships tonight! If you see a member on Monday please congratulate them! This is a HUGE accomplishment for them, and they beat more than 80 schools from 3 countries to make it through prelims and semis to the final round!

Indoor Drumline students will be traveling to Dayton, Ohio, tomorrow to compete in Drumline World Championships. They're currently ranked third in their class, so it's a very exciting time. Good Luck!

Congratulations to the 5 Central Dauphin students who participated in the PMEA Region 5 Choir festival last weekend. The students had a great time making choral music with Dr. Kiver from Penn State University. A special congratulations to Kyle Jacobs who qualified for All State Choir as a Bass 2. Great job guys!

The CD Indoor Drumline finished third this weekend at the WGI Unionville Regional, competing against 20 other schools. Their score of 87.0 moves them up to 3rd place in the Scholastic A Class national rankings. Congratulations!

Congratulations to all the students who auditioned for the PMEA District 7 Orchestra on Saturday. Out of over 200 students who auditioned, Myay Boyd on violin and Sara Malina on cello were selected to be part of the orchestra January 15-16.

Congratulations to the 7 students selected to participate in this year's PMEA district 7 Choir. Auditions were held last Saturday for the choir festival, which will take place in early February. CD was among the schools sending the most students to this year's festival. The students who were selected were Leanne Frist, Danielle Buckingham, Shayi Osundeko, Megan George, Maya Boyd, Tessa Shaffer, and Kyle Jacobs.
