Congratulations to the following Seniors!!! Alim Momin was chosen as one of Penn Lives top 20 Best and Brightest for 2016! Semifinalists from CDHS were: Joshua Bowman, Daniel Brosius, Nicholas Gigliotti, Serena Merlo, Jacob Mullen and Jonathan Veil.

Powder Puff Game

A big thank you for everyone who attended and participated in yesterday's Powder Puff game. The event helped raise over $5,000 for the Four Diamonds Fund. In game action, Autumn Fortney had a 94 yard touchdown interception to help the Sophomores beat the Freshman 25-3 and for the Juniors, QB Carson Snigocki connected with Brianna Polly for a 4 yard touchdown reception to help them beat the Seniors 8-6.

Apollo Awards

A huge congratulations goes out to the entire cast and crew of The Laramie Project who won the Hershey Theater Apollo Award for Outstanding Play last night for the second year in a row! Additional congrats should go to Sophomore Elizabeth Tesler, Junior Melissa Kline, and Senior James Griffith who also won their individual categories. If you know anyone who was in the Fall Play, be sure to congratulate them!

Yesterday at the Capital Area Classics Festival Juniors Corbin VanDyck, JoLynn Harper, and Jillian Smith won 3rd place for their map of the Odyssey and sophomore Meena Felsburg won 1st place for her color sketch. Congratulations!

ACE Mentor Program

Zach McMinn and local students made presentations on possible careers in architecture, construction and engineering at the ACE Mentor Program of Central Pennsylvania’s Student Presentation Banquet on Wednesday, March 16 at the Hershey Lodge. Attending the banquet are, from left (See Photo Below), Eric Belles, a student at Middletown Area High School; Ryan Shultz, a student at Hershey High School; Trevor Kulynych, a student at Lower Dauphin High School, and Zach McMinn, a student at Central Dauphin High School.

Animation Class Principal Challenge

The final results are in for the Animation Class Principal Challenge. They are: 1st Place- Team Porter with $6.33, 2nd Place- Team Shrader with $5.50, 3rd Place- Team Benkovic with $5.13, 4th Place- Team Herb with $3.22, and 5th Place- Team Miller with $1.76. We raised a total of $21.94 for the 4-Diamonds fund. Thanks to all that participated!

A huge congratulations goes to the cast of the Fall Play for cleaning up again in nominations for the Hershey Theater Apollo Awards! Nominated for Outstanding Featured Performer are sophomore Elizabeth Tesler and Junior Taylor Guarente. Nominated for best supporting Actress is Junior Melissa Kline. Nominated for best supporting actor in a play is sophomore Jameson Neyman, nominated for lead actor in a play are seniors James Griffith and Ryan Hatfield. In an unprecedented turn of events BOTH CASTS were nominated for best play. Once again CD has more nominations than any other school! The Apollos are awarded in the end of May. If you see a member of the Fall Play in the hall today, tell them congratulations!

Three Central Dauphin High School students, Jackson Tenny, Hannah Wevodau, and Madeleine Tenny, have been accepted into the Rotary International Youth Short-Term Exchange Program. These students were selected after submitting an application and going through an extensive interview process. Acceptance in this program will expose these students to new cultures and customs in a powerful way to promote global understanding and peace. Congratulations to all three of you.

Congratulations to Elise Peron, Weston Gehman, Amber VanSaun, Maddie Key, Natalie Landersman, Mary Beth Cusick, Kourtlynn Leicht, and Rachel Aull for taking 1st place in the Financial Statement Analysis contest at Kutztown University’s Accounting Career Day. This A-One-Nerd group competed against 165 other students from nine schools and earned a near perfect score in the competition.
