Former CD Student Justin Shirk WINS NCAA DIV II Javelin
PUEBLO, Colo. -- Former Central Dauphin state champ Justin Shirk is still throwing the javelin, if you hadn't heard. And he never threw it better than on Saturday. Shirk, a sophomore at Bloomsburg University, unleashed a 71.90-meter throw -- 235 feet, 11 inches -- to win the NCAA Division II national javelin championship. In doing so, Shirk became Bloomsburg's first national champion in men's track and field. He also broke the school's javelin record and set a personal best with his winning throw.
