CD Wrestling Managers

Team managers provide an invaluable service to the coaching staff and team during the season. Team Managers help with equipment, video tape every match at both dual meets and individual tournaments, and help document, compile and distribute statistics about the team and each individual wrestler.

NHSCA Coach of the Year

Coach Jeff Sweigard was recognized as the NHSCA Coach of the Year 2009.  This award is given to the best high school coach in any sport throughout the entire nation.  It is indeed an honor.  We are proud that Mr. Jeff Sweigard calls CD his home.  Congratulations to this humble, hard-working, dedicated man who inspires us all!

Pennsylvania Wrestling Round-Up Magazine Full Page Ad

A Full Page Ad was placed in the Pennsylvania Wrestling Round-Up Magazine The CD Wrestling Boosters Club placed a full page advertisement in the Pennsylvania Wrestling Round-Up Magazine celebrating our success as a result of extraordinary Dedication and Cooperation. Thanks, was given to the Wrestlers: Varsity Team, JV Team, and Freshman Team. Our Parents, Coaches and Fans were also applauded for their support. Many thanks, to Coach Mike Mauer who assisted in the preparation of the ad.

House of Representatives Recognition Day

On Monday May 4th, Representative Ron Marsico honored the Varsity Team at the House of Representatives in the State Capitol.  Each wrestler received a Citation for Excellence from the House of Representatives.  They enjoyed the day at the Capitol sharing lunch and a photo op with Representative Ron Marsico.  They received a standing ovation from the legislators for the accomplishments of 5 time State Champions.    Tony Dallago was recognized for his state title.  Marshall Peppelman was recognized for his second state title.  Seniors Simon Rice and Kenny Stank and Emett Koller appeared on the House platform and were recognized. Coach Sweigard was recognized for his honor as the NHSCA Coach of the Year.  All wrestlers, coaches and parents in attendance were asked to rise and received a standing ovation.  It was a wonderful day of celebration and fun.

CD Wrestling Senior Update

Seniors graduating who participated on the CD Wrestling Team will attend the following colleges:
Tony Dallago- University of Illinois
Emett Koller- Harrisburg Community College
Zach Oberholtzer-  Bucknell University
Simon Rice- Shippensburg University
Carl Seltzer-  Shippensburg University
Kenny Stank- Bloomsburg University
Nick Yodock-  Michigan State University

CD Wrestling Banquet Update

CD Wrestling was acknowledged for the 5th straight PIAA AAA Team win.  Two State Champions were honored.  Tony Dallago won his first State gold at 189 lbs.  Marshall Peppelman won his second State Championship at 152 lbs.  Additionally, Kenny Courts earned the silver medal at 160 lbs.  Freshman, Shyheim Brown impressed the crowd with a third place finishes his first year in high school at 103 lbs.  Simon Rice earned a 5th place finish at 119 lbs.  Kenny Stank finished strong with a 6th place medal at 135 lbs. Other State Qualifiers include Kevin Gooding at 112 lbs and Tyler Buckman at 125 lbs. 

Central Dauphin scored the most points to run away with the team title for the third year in a row.

Mr. Sam Sehar was privileged to award the CD Wrestling Scholarship in honor of his wife, Stephanie, who was an outstanding parent-volunteer for the CD Boosters Club.  The scholarships were given to three student-athletes this year.  The recipients were:  Kenny Stank, Simon Rice and Zach Oberholtzer.  $1,000 was awarded to each worthy student. 

The RAM Award which is given to the wrestler who exhibits the most Dedication, Determination and Drive was awarded to Zach Oberholtzer.Zach will be attending Bucknell University.

Academic Awards were awarded to the following student-wrestlers:

12 th grade- Nick Yodock
11th grade- Nick Stewart
10 th grade tie- AJ Sweigard and Zak Koller
9th grade- Nate Stewart
8th grade- TJ Osborne
7th grade- Garrett Peppelman
